Michael Kirby Chambers was established in late 2010. It is located in an historic two-storey sandstone building at 49 Davey St Hobart.
Michael Kirby Chambers was chosen to evoke the combination of integrity, intellectual robustness and fearlessness possessed by former High Court Justice Michael Kirby.
Those are the attributes to which each member of Chambers aspires.
MKC barristers have a range of seniority, experience and skills. Each is determined, skilled and fiercely independent.
Most have taken on difficult and controversial cases in the public interest and all are dedicated to excellence whether acting for fee or pro bono.
Chambers news is updated regularly and can be accessed from the news link above. Recent events include the appointment of one of our founding members, Duncan Kerr as a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia and President of the AAT, and a visit from Michael Kirby. Our University Prize for 2013 (awarded 2014) has also been announced. Congratulations to David Gale.
